Q: Who should use this SiriusXM Bluetooth Vehicle Dock?
A: Customers who have a vehicle with a stereo/headunit which has Bluetooth capability but does NOT have an auxiliary input (AUX).

Important! If your vehicle stereo/headunit has an AUX input you don't need the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock. Use the AUX connection for the SiriusXM audio.

Q: Which vehicle stereos/headunits is the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock compatible with?
A: Most vehicle stereos/headunits with Bluetooth, model year 2016 and newer, are compatible, if they can support two simultaneous Bluetooth cellphone connections.

Important! Before purchasing the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock check that your vehicle stereo/headunit can do following: You can connect two different cellphones to your vehicle stereo/headunit at the same time, where one cellphone is connected to the vehicle stereo/headunit for the phone and the other cellphone is connected to the vehicle stereo/headunit as a media device.

If your stereo/headunit can support two simultaneous Bluetooth cellphone connections as described above, then your stereo/headunit is compatible with the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock and your stereo/headunit will switch between the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock and your phone for calls.

If your stereo/headunit cannot support two simultaneous Bluetooth cellphone connections as described above, then your stereo/headunit is probably not compatible with the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock. While you may be able to connect the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock to your stereo/headunit for the SiriusXM audio, you will not be able to make hands-free cellphone calls using the stereo/headunit while the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock is connected via Bluetooth for SiriusXM audio.

Important! The Bluetooth Vehicle Dock is not recommended for use with Ford SYNC® stereo/headunits as they are incompatible with each other.

Q: How do I pair the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock to my vehicle's audio system?
A: The SiriusXM Bluetooth Vehicle Dock needs to be paired with your vehicle’s audio system. Once paired, you do not need to repeat the pairing process. After the dock is paired, the audio level of the SiriusXM radio will need to be adjusted. Some audio systems automatically pair with an available Bluetooth device and some create a list of available Bluetooth devices and you select a device from this list to pair with.

Bluetooth Pairing Procedure
Place the SiriusXM Radio into the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock. If the Radio does not turn on automatically, press the power button to turn it on.

Press and hold the Bluetooth Button for 4 seconds until the Bluetooth Indicator LED turns from blue to red and begins alternately blinking blue and red (one second blink).

Begin a Bluetooth scan on the vehicle’s audio system. Consult the instruction manual that accompanied your vehicle, or which accompanied the audio system installed in your vehicle, for instructions on how to do this.

Select SiriusXM-XXXXXX for the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock from the list. The audio system will pair with the Bluetooth dock with no need to enter a PIN code. However, if your vehicle’s audio system prompts for a PIN code, enter 0000 on the audio system.

Once paired, the blinking blue LED will become steady, and you should hear the SiriusXM audio. After about 20 seconds, the blue LED will dim. If pairing fails, repeat these pairing steps again. If unsuccessful consult the Troubleshooting section

Verify that the vehicle audio system has assigned the correct profiles after pairing
If you have a cellphone connected via Bluetooth to the vehicle audio system, you will need to confirm that the audio system has automatically assigned the Music Profile to the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock, and the Phone Profile to the cellphone.

If not, you will need to manually assign these profiles:

A. In the vehicle audio system’s Bluetooth device menu, verify (or manually assign) the Music Profile (media, musical note icon) to the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock, and verify (or manually assign) the Phone Profile (hands free, H/F, phone icon) to the connected cellphone. Consult the instruction manual that accompanied your vehicle, or which accompanied the audio system installed in your vehicle, for instructions on how to assign these profiles.

B. Each time you pair and connect a cellphone to the vehicle audio system, note that you will likely need to repeat step A for the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock AND the newly connected cellphone.

Adjusting the Audio Level of your SiriusXM Radio
A. Verify that AUX Detect is enabled or re-enable AUX Detect:
Press Menu, select Factory Settings, and set AUX Detect to enabled. For radios without Aux Detect, you must manually turn off the FM feature in your SiriusXM Radio or your audio will be too low.

B. Set Audio Level to Maximum:Access Audio Level in SiriusXM Radio menu settings and adjust the Audio Level to the maximum volume setting. You can then lower the Audio Level from maximum if the Bluetooth audio is louder than other audio sources, such as the AM/FM radio.)

Q: How do I pair the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock to my Honda CR-V audio system?
A: The SiriusXM Bluetooth Vehicle Dock is compatible with the Honda CR-V audio systems. There are two types of audio systems found in the Honda CR-V: A Color Audio System and B a Touch screen Audio System. Here are Honda's Bluetooth guides for each:

For Touch Screen Audio System

Here are screen shots of the "Phone Not Found" button for each style of audio system:

The BT Dock pairing screens are a little different between each type of H/U but the key is to select the "Phone Not Found" option and ensure the BT Dock is in pairing mode (flashing red/blue) and allow the dock to discover the Honda audio system.

Troubleshooting "Device Not Found":
If you have tried to connect the SiriusXM Radio Bluetooth Dock to your Honda CR-V factory stereo and the display shows “Device Not Found” follow these instructions below to connect the dock:
  • On the pairing screen locate the button labeled "Device Not Found" and select the button
  • Once selected H/U will go into "Discoverable Mode" allowing the BT Dock to pair to the H/U. (Be sure the BT Dock is in pairing mode: e.g. flashing red blue)
  • Once the BT Dock has paired with the H/U, the H/U will give both profiles to the BT Dock (Both Hands-free and A2DP/Media)
  • After the BT Dock is paired navigate back to the phone menu on the H/U and select the phone again but only select the Hands-free/phone profile. This will allow media streaming from the BT Dock and calls from a cellphone.
Bluetooth Profile Splitting Process
Important! Some Honda audio systems learn this profile split after three or more profile selections. This means that the H/U will resist allowing the selection of only one profile to a Bluetooth device for the first two or three attempts but after the third or fourth attempt of splitting the profiles between phone and dock the H/U learns this and will retain the split indefinitely afterwards.

Profile Splitting Process on the Honda CR-V:
  1. Pair the phone: The phone gets both profiles H/F(phone) and A2DP(music, media)
  2. Pair the Bluetooth Vehicle Dock (BT Dock): The BT dock gets both profiles
  3. Go back to the phone in the Bluetooth menu and select only Hands-free (H/F or Phone icon)
  4. Go to the BT Dock in the Bluetooth menu and the phone will have taken both profiles. Select the Music (or musical note Icon) profile for the Bluetooth Dock
  5. Go to Phone and select only the H/F profile
  6. Go the BT Dock and see if the Phone still has both profiles. Select only Music for the BT Dock.
  7. Go to phone, if phone still has both profiles), select only H/F for the phone.
  8. Go to the BT Dock and select Music for the BT Dock.
  9. Go to the phone and:
  • If the phone still has both profiles then repeat steps 4 through 9
  • If the phone only has H/F, then you are done

Note: The splitting of profiles was ignored the first three times by the H/U and eventually learned by the H/U. This may take several additional repeats of the above steps but be persistent as it will eventually be learned and then retained by the CR-V audio system.
